Senior firmware engineer
(Full-time, $125,000~$145,000/year)

(US Citizen or Permanent Resident required)

Galley Power is looking for a senior embedded firmware engineer. In this role, you will be building embedded firmware for our power converter products. The job functions include control algorithms design and validation, writing, and testing microcontrollers (MCU) code for power converters. Responsibilities include but not limited: 
  • Produce high-quality safe, scalable embedded code for: 
  • Controlling power converters, such as DC-DC, AC-DC, etc. 
  • Embedded control for Li-ion battery management systems (BMS).  
  • Communication protocol such as CANbus/J1939, SPI, I2C. 
  • Configure MCU resources such as PWM, ADC, GPIOs.  
  • Work with a team of electrical engineers, controls engineers, and test engineers to: 
  • Deliver MCU related hardware design specifications. 
  • Design and implement control algorithms for power converters. 
  • Run lab verification tests for controller prototypes, including hands-on debugging, writing scripts to facilitate test data collection and test data analysis.  
  • Create firmware documentation and releases.  
  • Assist software architecture design. 
  • Participate in continuous improvement of software development process. 
Required: 
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering, preferred advanced degree with a focus on power electronics.  
  • 5+ years of professional experience working with embedded systems. 
  • Knowledge of power electronics circuitry controls and protections.   
  • Knowledge of control theory such as PID and digital filters. 
  • Has delivered production-quality embedded C code in the past. 
  • Understanding the constraints and considerations working with RTOS and designing code for embedded applications. 
 
Highly desired 
  • Excellent hands-on debugging skills with embedded systems. 
  • Experience with CAN communication protocols.  
  • Familiar with version control software such as Git. 
  • Experience with TI C2000 MCUs. 
  • Ability to be creative/resourceful and to work in a fast-paced start-up environment.

Senior electrical design engineer
(Full-time, $110,000~$125,000/year)

(US Citizen or Permanent Resident required)

We are looking for a senior electronical design engineer in the field of electrical engineering with hand-on experience on embedded system design. This position will join the core technical team to develop advanced energy storage and battery management solution. 

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to hardware design, prototype and early production of embedded products
  • Schematic entry and PCB layout
  • Participate product tests and troubleshooting
  • Develop product improvement protocol
  • Experience on power electronics (AC/DC, DC/DC, etc) design, test and troubleshooting is plus.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree or higher in Electrical Engineering with more than four year experience.
Plus:
  • ​Schematic design and PCB layout, or embedded system coding
  • Background and work experience in the filed of power electronics
